Highlights
  • Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro launch is expected in February 2021
  • It will come with the same screen specs as the Xiaomi Mi 11
  • Mi 11 Pro specs will include three (or four) rear cameras, support for 120W fast charging, and more

Unlike previous product launches, Xiaomi has chosen to unveil its premium Xiaomi Mi 11 series in two phases. The first phase showed us the Xiaomi Mi 11 in its entirety. However, the rumour mill now tells us that there will be a better-specced version of the smartphone, called the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. Well-known Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has hinted that it will be a while before we see the Mi 11 Pro in action though, as Xiaomi will launch it after the Chinese Spring Festival (February 12th). A staggered launch makes sense from a business perspective as it prevents the Mi 11 from being overshadowed by the Pro model.

Mi 11 Pro specifications

Previous leaks have shed some light on what the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro may have in store for us. The Pro variants of smartphones made by other OEMs often feature a larger screen, better cameras, and a larger battery. The Mi 11 Pro aims to deviate from that norm a little, as it is tipped to come with the same screen specs as the base Mi 11. Once again, the information was bought to light by Digital Chat Station. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as the Mi 11 comes with an impressive 6.8-inch 2K 120Hz AMOLED screen.

Other alleged Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro specifications include a 192MP primary camera that will use 4:1 pixel binning to produce 50MP images, a 48MP telephoto camera that will also use a similar technique, and a telephoto lens. There could even be a fourth mystery sensor added for good measure. It is also likely to support wired fast charging at 120W, something that we’ve already seen on the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra.
