Samsung Galaxy A42 5G has allegedly been spotted on the Geekbench benchmark platform. The smartphone with model number SM-A426B was announced earlier this month as one of the cheapest 5G phones from Samsung but the complete specifications were not revealed at the time. The Geekbench source code now suggests the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC but there’s no official confirmation from Samsung. According to a screenshot shared by Deanlntech, the handset has eight cores, of which two cores running at 2.21GHz while the other six cores are clocked at 1.80GHz. It also revealed the phone will have Adreno 619 GPU. This configuration matches with the Snapdragon 750G SoC. It is slated to go on sale later this year.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G SoC was announced earlier this week as the newest mid-range phone to come integrated with the Snapdragon X52 5G Modem-RF-system that supports both mmWave and sub-6GHz, SA and NSA modes. The Adreno 619 GPU is said to offer 10 percent better graphics compared to Snapdragon 730G. The chipset is Wi-Fi ready and is equipped with the 5th generation Qualcomm AI Engine, FHD+ 120Hz display, 12GB LPDDR4x RAM, and has NFC connectivity.
The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G sports a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch for the selfie snapper and ultra-slim bezels. The volume rocker and power button are on the right spine. There are quad-cameras at the back housed in a square module and an LED flash. The phone has a unique gradient finish and since there’s no physical fingerprint sensor, it could be placed in-display.
