Vaio made a comeback in India last month with a couple of affordable laptops and the company has now announced a high-end notebook globally. It is called Vaio Z (2021) and it comes with all the bells and whistles of a high-end laptop, including new 11tth-generation Intel Tiger Lake CPUs, Thunderbolt 4.0 support, Dolby-certified speakers, and a Carbon fibre body. Weighing in at less than 1 Kg, the Vaio Z lies on the lighter end of the spectrum, making it ideal for users on the go. However, all of these features do come at a premium cost. The Vaio Z is currently available for pre-order in select regions.
Vaio Z (2021) price
The entry-level Vaio Z variant costs USD 3,579 (approx Rs 2,60,000). Similarly, the maxed-out version costs USD 4,179 (approx Rs 3,00,000). Do bear in mind that these are US prices, and the laptops may cost even more in India if the company plans to bring them to the country that is.
Vaio Z (2021) specifications
The Vaio Z (2021) comes with a 14-inch 4K HDR 10-certified screen that covers 99.8% of the DCI-P3 gamut, making it ideal for content creators who need a colour-accurate display on the go. Its integrated 2MP 1080p webcam comes with a privacy shutter and an IR sensor that allows for Windows Hello functionality. There appears to be only one choice of CPU for the Vaio Z; the new Intel Tiger Lake i7-11375H, which comes with an integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU. It supports up to 2TB of solid-state storage and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, 1x Thunderbolt 4.0 port, 1x USB Type-C port, 1x HDMI 2.0 port, 1x DisplayPort 1.4 and a 3.5mm headphone/mic audio jack. Vaio claims that the Vaio Z’s 53Wh battery can offer up to 10 hours of backup.
