Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro specifications (expected)
The Redmi K40 series is confirmed to feature a 6.8-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro will come with the smallest-ever hole-punch camera ever seen on a smartphone if Redmi CEO Lei Jun is to be believed. Previous leaks have told us that the vanilla Redmi K40 will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset and the Redmi K40 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC.
The vanilla Redmi K40 may come with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage, while the Redmi K40 Pro could offer up to 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The Pro may also pack a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging support, while the Redmi K40 is tipped to offer a smaller 4,500mAh unit. Both phones are likely to run on Android 11 based on MIUI 12 or MIUI 12.5 on top.
The only Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 specs that are shrouded by mystery are its camera configurations. While we know that both models will come with four rear camera modules, little is known about their exact specifications. We can reasonably assume that the Redmi K40 Pro will feature a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL sensor, but it’s hard to tell what Xiaomi has in store for us with the Redmi K40. Connectivity features on both phones will include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port.
Redmi K40 price (expected)
Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro prices will be announced later today. The vanilla model is expected to cost CNY 2,199 (approx Rs 25,000) in China for what appears to be the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Similarly, the Redmi K40 Pro will start at CNY 2,999 (approx Rs 34,000), as per rumours.
