Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth is seemingly teasing the launch of an upcoming flagship phone powered by the Snapdragon 765 successor. Qualcomm is expected to announce its next flagship mobile chipset later today and Realme is expected to be one of the first brands to use the processor in early 2021. While rumours suggest the next flagship SoC will be called Snapdragon 875, it is now being rumoured that it will be called Snapdragon 888 instead. While the Realme executive hasn’t shared any details about the phone, a tipster has told GizmoChina that it could be called ‘Realme Ace’.

According to a tweet by Ishan Agarwal, the upcoming flagship processor from Qualcomm will be dubbed as Snapdragon 888 5G SoC instead of the widely rumoured Snapdragon 875. If true, it remains to be seen why Qualcomm decided to change the naming scheme this time around. We should know more details regarding the flagship Snapdragon chipset when it goes official later today.

As per the report, the Realme flagship phone, called Realme Ace, powered by the Snapdragon 875/888 chipset will support superfast charging. It seems the phone could support the 125W UltraDart fast-charging solution that Realme announced back in July. The technology is claimed to fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 20 minutes. The smartphone is also tipped to come with a thin chassis.
