OnePlus Watch launch was confirmed by OnePlus CEO Pete Lau a few days ago and now the executive has revealed when we can expect the smartwatch to arrive. In a tweet, Lau reiterated that the company was working on the OnePlus Watch and it will be released early next year. This suggests we may see the OnePlus Watch launch alongside the OnePlus 9 series, possibly by mid-March. There have been a few reports on the upcoming OnePlus smartwatch regarding the design and here’s what we know about it so far.

OnePlus Watch has been in the works for many years now and early sketches have suggested a device with a circular dial. The smartwatch was expected to release in 2020, but tipster Max J. revealed in October that the launch was delayed to 2021 due to software development issues. Lau in a recent interview said that it was working closely with Google to improve Wear OS. However, it isn’t explicitly clear whether the OnePlus Watch will ship with Wear OS.

OnePlus Watch is expected to launch in India as a OnePlus smartwatch received the BIS certification back in September. While there is no launch date yet, the OnePlus Watch may arrive with the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro models. The smartphones are rumoured to come with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and Leica-branded cameras, among other things.
