  • Samsung Galaxy S21 has been spotted on the BIS certification website
  • The Galaxy S21 series India launch is expected in February 2021
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 specifications include a 6.2-inch AMOLED panel, three rear cameras, and a 4,000mAh battery.

Just recently, we reported that all three Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones would come with 5G support in India, unlike their predecessors that launched with 4G LTE support only. The vanilla Samsung Galaxy S21 has now made an appearance on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification website, indicating that it will be launched in the country soon. The Indian variant of the Samsung Galaxy S21 has a model number of SM-G991B. Now that the entry-level Galaxy S21 has received the green light from BIS, it shouldn’t be long before the Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra get approved as well.

While the BIS listing sheds little light on the Galaxy S21 specifications, earlier reports have told us a fair bit about the handset. For starters, it is expected to come with a 6.2-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel clocked at 120Hz. That would be a downgrade compared to the Galaxy S20’s QHD+ screen with the same refresh rate. Its 4,000mAh battery will allegedly support fast charging at up to 25W, but the smartphone may not ship with a charger in the box, according to a previous report.

Other Galaxy S21 features include three rear cameras; a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 12MP wide-angle lens, and a 64MP telephoto lens. It will likely reuse its predecessor’s 12MP selfie camera. The Galaxy S21 is also expected to come with the Galaxy Note 20’s ultra-wideband chip, support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and mmWave 5G. Rumours indicate that the Galaxy S21 price in India will be around $800 (approximately Rs 60,000).
