  • POCO F2 India launch could be on the cards
  • POCO has revealed it is working on a new POCO F-series phone
  • The company has not revealed any details about the product at the moment

POCO F2 launch continues to be a major interest for people even after two years since the release of the POCO F1. The company has not launched a follow-up to the POCO F1 yet and the brand does not consider the POCO F2 Pro as a true successor. The brand had recently confirmed that a true POCO F1 successor is in the works, though details about the device are still a mystery. In a recent ‘ask me anything’ session on YouTube, C Manmohan, the brand’s outgoing General Manager, has revealed that a new POCO F-series phone is in the works as a reply to a question on the POCO F2 launch. Additionally, when asked how difficult is it to recreate the same magic today that POCO F1 created, Manhonam said that it is and will be very difficult, probably hinting the POCO F2 price could be higher than its predecessor.

POCO’s Country Director Anuj Sharma in an interview with The Indian Express back in October mentioned the company will not launch the POCO F2 Pro in India as the brand doesn’t believe it is a proper upgrade to the POCO F1 that was an impressive offering back then.

During the interview, Anuj has mentioned that the POCO F1 successor is in the works, but it will take a few months to launch officially. It remains to be seen how disruptive the POCO F2 will be when it launches considering it will be carrying the weight of launching as a POCO F1 successor. One can only hope the POCO F2 may finally break covers in early 2021 and will most probably carry flagship-grade hardware.

For now, POCO fans can look forward to the POCO M3 launch, which is scheduled for November 24th. The company has already confirmed a few POCO M3 specs, including the 6.53-inch waterdrop display, Snapdragon 662 SoC, and 6,000mAh battery. The POCO M3 will release in Europe but is expected to arrive in India at a later date considering the brand launched the POCO M2 in the country this year.
