POCO in January had announced it will no longer be under the wings of Xiaomi back. It has now reaffirmed its independent status yet again after the POCO M3 launch and has offered a detailed report on what it has accomplished thus far. POCO’s inception started off with POCO F1 back in 2018, with the company shipping over 2.2 million units of the smartphone. On the other hand, the overall shipments of all the phones it launched, including mid-range and budget, have touched 6 million units. POCO brand is now present in over 35 global markets.
POCO in a statement said, “These tremendous achievements underscore consumers’ overwhelming endorsement of POCO’s brand philosophy – “everything you need, nothing you don’t.” POCO F1 and F2 Pro have demonstrated our success in competing with top-of-the-line flagships, while POCO X3 exemplified our effectiveness in the mid-range category. Now, with the debut of POCO M3, we’re taking on a whole new segment with an offering that’s more than you expect. At POCO, we stay firm with three brand promises: Technology that matters, feedback-based product design and Ever-evolving.”
POCO M3 is the company’s latest offering and comes as a successor to the POCO M2. The handset ships with a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage that is further expandable via a microSD card slot. It runs on Android 10-based MIUI 12 custom skin on top. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. As for the cameras, the POCO M3 has a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots, and a 2MP macro lens for close up shots. There is an 8MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. A 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support fuels the phone.
