OnePlus 9 Pro design was recently leaked through renders posted by tipster OnLeaks, giving us a pretty good idea about what to expect. It showed off a corner punch-hole display, curved glass, and rectangular camera module at the back to house four cameras. Now, a couple of days after the leak, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has made a cryptic comment on Twitter. The executive tweeted, “No design is ever set in stone. Because if it were, it wouldn’t be a very lightweight smartphone“. This seemingly suggests that the leaked OnePlus 9 Pro renders may not reflect the actual design and that the final product could look slightly different.

This makes sense considering the renders posted by OnLeaks were based on a prototype model. So, all of this is a good indication that we haven’t had our final look at the OnePlus 9 Pro design just yet. Furthermore, Pete Lau’s comment also suggests the upcoming flagship will be lightweight, probably lighter than the OnePlus 8 Pro. Either way, we should know more about the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro design going forward unless the company manages to keep it a secret, even from the leakers.
OnePlus 9 Pro specifications (rumoured)
According to the rumoured OnePlus 9 Pro specifications, the flagship is said to sport a 6.67-inch curved display with at least 120Hz refresh rate and punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The phone is widely expected to be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 SoC paired with 8GB RAM. The OnePlus 9 Pro should employ the new 65W fast-charging solution and run on the latest Android 11 OS out of the box. The device could come in multiple storage options: 128GB or 256GB native storage that won’t be expandable.
