JioPhone price in India is about to be hiked by Rs 300 soon, 91mobiles has learned from its retail sources. The first-gen feature phone, which has been struggling with stock issues in the country, will start reselling in India soon as retailers claim they now have enough units for sale. The new JioPhone price in India will now be set at Rs 999, up from its previous selling price of Rs 699, and the company is likely to make an official announcement about this in the coming days. Additionally, the feature phone will be sold with a new Rs 125 recharge pack, our sources tell us. This will result in the JioPhone price in India going up to as much as Rs 1,124.

The new JioPhone recharge would be applicable soon. Additionally, we’ve also received images of the JioPhone retail boxes, which lists all the key specifications and services that you get with the feature phone. Notably, the JioPhone units that will be sold now will be powered by Qualcomm’s chipset. To recall, some JioPhone units were being sold with the Spreadtrum chipset, but the telco is now going with Qualcomm only.

JioPhone specifications

The original JioPhone was launched back in 2017. Its specifications, to recall, include 4G LTE connectivity, a 2.4-inch display, a Qualcomm processor, a VGA camera, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB storage. The phone runs KaiOS out of the box to take care of the software side of things.
