  • POCO tipped to launch a mid-range phone in December
  • The handset may not be the POCO F1 successor
  • There’s no word on the India launch at the moment

Earlier this month, POCO teased it would launch a new phone before the end of the year. This was speculated to be the POCO F1 successor, which is rumoured to be in the works. The next POCO phone launch date is yet to be revealed, but tipster Mukul Sharma has tweeted that the device will likely release globally during the first half of December. The tipster adds that the handset will be a mid-range offering and not a flagship, which suggests it may not be the POCO F2 but a completely new phone. Unfortunately, there’s no word on the India launch of this device at the moment.

POCO

POCO’s Anuj Sharma had recently confirmed the company is working on a true POCO F1 successor. Though it is believed the POCO F2 Pro is the successor to the POCO F1, the company doesn’t believe it is a perfect sequel to the phone that was a rage when it launched in 2018. We can speculate the phone may arrive with Snapdragon 8xx series chipset and should be priced aggressively.

POCO had recently announced that it sold over 1 million smartphones during the Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale that was held between October 16th to October 21st. It offered discounts on phones like POCO C3, POCO M2, POCO M2 Pro, POCO X2, and POCO X3 along with instant cashback offers. The POCO M2 was cheaper by Rs 500 on prepaid payments, similarly, the POCO M2 Pro was available at a Rs 1,000 discount. While the POCO X3 price in India was down by Rs 1,750. Lastly, the POCO X2 was available at a starting price of Rs 16,499.
