Realme 7 Pro (Review) was launched in India alongside the vanilla Realme 7 (Review) on Thursday. These phones succeed the Realme 6 Pro (Review) and Realme 6 (Review), respectively, in the affordable mid-range segment. The Realme 6 Pro was considered a value for money smartphone under Rs 20,000 for offering a 90Hz display, 64MP quad cameras, and 30W fast charging. Now, the Realme 7 Pro looks to take that title as it comes with specifications like a 65W fast charging solution, upgraded 64MP quad cameras, and an sAMOLED display, among other things. Here’s a quick look at how the Realme 7 Pro compares to the Realme 6 Pro in terms of price and specs.

Realme 7 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro: Price in India

The Realme 7 Pro price in India is Rs 19,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, and Rs 21,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The handset comes in Mirror Blue and Mirror Silver colour options and is scheduled to go on sale in the country on September 14th onwards via Realme.com and Flipkart.

Meanwhile, the Realme 6 Pro is selling in India at Rs 17,999 sticker price for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The 6GB + 128GB variant will set you back to Rs 18,999, while the top-end 8GB RAM option costs Rs 19,999. The phone is available for sale via Realme.com in Lightning Blue, Lightning Orange, and Lightning Red colour options. 

Realme 7 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro: Design

Design-wise, the Realme 7 Pro and Realme 6 Pro both ship with punch-hole displays. However, the cut-out on the 7 Pro houses just one selfie camera while the 6 Pro gets an elongated hole for dual front cameras. The back panel of the Realme 7 Pro successor touts a dual-tone finish and a rectangular camera module.

The Realme 6 Pro has a gradient finish at the back with quad cameras stacked vertically at the top left. The 6 Pro also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security, whereas the 7 Pro has the sensor under the screen. Apart from this, both phone features a volume rocker and power button on the right spine and speaker grille, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Type-C charging port at the bottom edge.

Realme 7 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro: Specifications

The Realme 7 Pro ships with a 6.4-inch sAMOLED display that bears FHD+ (1,080 x 2,4000 pixels) resolution, 180Hz touch sampling rate, 20:9 ratio, 90.8 per cent screen-to-body ratio, and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The Realme 6 Pro, on the other hand, gets an FHD+ LCD display with a higher 90Hz refresh rate. Both the smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 720G SoC paired with up to 8GB RAM.

The quad rear camera setup of the Relame 7 Pro includes a 64MP Sony IMX682 primary sensor, an 8MP (f/2.3) wide-angle lens, 2MP (f/2.4) B/W portrait camera, and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro lens. Up front, it gets a 32MP snapper for selfies and video calling. The phone houses a 4,500mAh battery backed by an even more impressive 65W SuperDart Charge support. This makes it the fastest charging phone in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment.

The Realme 6 Pro houses a slightly smaller 4,300mAh battery and supports 30W fast charging tech. For photography, the Relame 6 Pro’s quad-camera setup comprises 64MP Samsung GW1 primary sensor, 8MP (f/2.3) wide-angle lens, 12MP telephoto lens (f/2.5), and 2MP (f/2.4) macro lens. The front camera of the phone features 16MP wide-angle sensor and 8MP ultra-wide angle snapper for selfies and video calling. Connectivity options on both phones include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS/NavIC/ Glonass.

Realme 7 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro: Verdict

Going by the specs sheet alone, the Realme 7 Pro seems to be a decent upgrade from its predecessor Realme 6 Pro. The handset is integrated with slightly better cameras, sAMOLED display, and 65W SuperDart fast charging tech. In our review of the Realme 7 Pro, we said that the phone is a solid all-round device that’s priced on the higher side. Meanwhile, the Realme 6 Pro is a more affordable phone that is still compelling in 2020, at least in some aspects.
