LG K42 has been officially launched by the South Korean phone maker in the Dominican Republic. The handset is a slightly souped-up version of LG K31 that was launched in the US last month. The LG K42 comes with additional depth and macro cameras at the back, a 4,000mAh battery, a punch-hole display, and a unique wave pattern on its back with anti-scratch UV coating at the back. The phone sports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and MediaTek Helio P22 SoC under the hood. The LG K42 is also MIL-STD-810G certified, which means it can withstand extreme environments.

LG K42 specifications

The LG K42 comes with dual SIM support and runs Android 10 OS out of the box. The handset sports a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. At its core lies the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC paired with 3GB RAM and 64GB user-expandable storage. The phone is driven by a 4,000mAh battery.

In optics, the LG K42 packs a quad-camera setup at the back with a 13MP primary sensor, 5MP ultra-wide sensor, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro sensor. The front camera of the phone features an 8MP shooter on the front for selfies and video calling. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security and a dedicated button for Google Assistant. Other highlights include 3D Sound Engine, a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB-C port for charging. The LG K42 measures 165mm x 76.7mm x 8.4mm and it weighs 182 grams.

There is no word on LG K42 price yet, but the handset is said to go sale in markets of Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Ecuador, Honduras, El Salvador, and Costa Rica soon in Grey and Green colours options.
