A Samsung phone with the model number SM-G990B is said to be in the works, according to a report by SamMobile citing sources. The handset could very well be the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (Fan Edition) and it may come with 5G connectivity, considering the Galaxy S21 series does not include LTE models. The report adds that the Galaxy S21 FE specs will include 128GB and 256GB storage options and Android 11 OS. The phone will come in Grey/Silver, Pink, Violet, and White colour options. Much like the Galaxy S20 FE was a stripped-down version of the Galaxy S20, we expect the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE to borrow design elements and specifications from the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE launch could happen sometime in the second half of this year but can’t be said for certain just yet.
Separately, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G edition is said to be in the works as the handset had received the BIS certification in India with the model number SM-G781B/DS. This is expected to retain similar specifications as the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE global variant that came with Snapdragon 865 instead of Exynos 990 SoC. The handset was also spotted on Samsung India support page as well, pointing at an imminent launch. However, it remains to be seen whether the handset would be placed in the FE series or will come as a standalone offering.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the Exynos 990 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage that is further expandable via a microSD card slot. It runs Android 10 OS with OneUI 2.5 custom layer on top. A 4,500mAh battery with 15W charging support fuels the phone. As for the optics, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has triple cameras at the back with a 12MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. There is a 32MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
