Samsung is all set to release a new pair of TWS earbuds alongside the Galaxy S21 series later next month, dubbed the Galaxy Buds Pro. These will be the first Samsung-branded TWS earphones to come with ANC (active noise cancellation). The highly-requested feature has already been made available with Apple’s AirPods Pro, and it good to see Samsung finally catching up. Renowned leaker Evan Blass has posted some exclusive Galaxy Buds Pro renders on Voice. Unlike the Galaxy Buds Live launched earlier this year, the Galaxy Buds Pro retain the original’s design, which will come as a relief for many.

Apart from ANC, the Galaxy Buds Pro will also come with a 500mAh battery. That is quite an improvement over its predecessor’s 270mAh battery. However, that extra juice is essential to power ANC, which can get quite resource-heavy if used for extended periods. Sammobile also found out through its sources that the Galaxy Buds Pro will come with a better ambient mode and sound quality. While the Galaxy Buds’ sound quality wasn’t particularly bad, the ambient mode was quite lacklustre, so it is good to see Samsung improving on that.
The Galaxy Buds Pro will finally bring Samsung’s TWS offerings on par with Apple. It’ll be interesting to see what other improvements Samsung has in store for us. One of the main complaints with the Galaxy Buds was related to the lack of microphones. With ANC in the equation, the company will have to throw in a few more microphones to make the feature work as intended.
