Redmi 9 Power launch date, time

Redmi 9 Power launch date in India is December 17th. The phone will be unveiled at 12pm via an online event, which will be live-streamed on the company’s social media and YouTube channels.

Redmi 9 Power design

91mobiles exclusively confirmed yesterday that the Redmi 9 Power design will include a textured polycarbonate back with rectangular camera module at the back. The module will house vertically-aligned triple cameras, with LED flash just below and additional sensor on the side. At the front, the Redmi 9 Power is likely to house waterdrop notch screen with a small cut-out atop for the selfie camera and a chin at the bottom. The phone will reportedly pack a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, much like the Redmi Note 9 4G.

The company has also teased that the smartphone will come in four colour options, including grey, blue, red, and green.

Redmi 9 Power specifications

Xiaomi claims that the Redmi 9 Power will be a power-packed smartphone. The handset’s specifications are rumoured to be the same as Redmi Note 9 4G, except for the rear cameras which are said to include an additional sensor. The India-bound Redmi 9 Power will come with 48MP quad-camera setup instead of triple cameras. The handset could be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC and sport a 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS LCD screen.

The phone is rumoured to come with 4GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration. The Redmi 9 Power could also support storage expansion with a microSD card. The front camera of the handset could employ an 8MP snapper for selfies and video calling. Software-wise, the smartphone is likely to boot Android 10-based MIUI 12 custom skin on top out of the box. A 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support (over Type-C) could fuel the Redmi 9 Power.

Redmi 9 Power price in India

Redmi 9 Power price in India remains a mystery at the moment. However, if the phone turns out to be a rebranded Redmi Note 9 4G, which is retailing in China at RMB 999 (approx Rs 11,200) for the base model, it could be priced around Rs 12,000. The first sale date for the device will be announced during the launch event, so stay tuned for that. Redmi 9 Power is confirmed to go on sale in India via Amazon.in.
