  • PUBG Mobile India might not launch in December
  • Ministry of Electronics and Information technology (MeitY) is yet to respond to a meeting opportunity
  • PUBG Mobile India release in not expected until January or February

PUBG Mobile India launch has been highly anticipated ever since PUBG Corporation made the announcement last month. Since then, the company has registered the game in India, which signalled its imminent launch. However, PUBG Mobile India’s launch seems far from being close. A recent report claims that the Ministry of Electronics and Information technology (MeitY) hasn’t given permission to the company to re-start operations in the country. This may come as a disappointment to fans and the company officials who were hoping to resume operations by November-end. Now, according to a report from InsideSport citing reliable sources, PUBG Corp executives have repeatedly requested MeitY officials for a meeting opportunity but are yet to receive a response.

This meeting will reportedly decide if PUBG Mobile India will be granted permission to launch in the country. Considering the current circumstances, sources say PUBG Mobile India release is unlikely to happen before January or February 2021 and that too depends on the stance of the government. According to the ministry source, “there is no change in that stance at this stage.” Upon probing further on the latest development of the game launching under a new entity in India, InsideSport has learned that it will not be enough to resume operations. “Any banned entity can’t operate just by floating a new company. This even Tik Tok or anyone else can do. They will have to get permissions from MEITY to operate once again in India“, said the source.

This means despite floating a new entity in India and getting the required approvals, PUBG Corp still requires permissions from the Ministry to start operations considering PUBG Mobile among a growing list of banned applications
