Samsung Galaxy S21 series release date could be earlier than usual which makes sense considering the launch is also expected to be earlier than Samsung’s typical timeline. A South Korean news outlet states that the Samsung Galaxy S21 is expected to go on sale in February 2021, a month after the rumoured January launch. Some analysts suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra’s specifications might not be a whole lot different than its predecessor. However, the phone is expected to support S Pen inputs, which would make it the first phone to do so in the Galaxy S line.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 phones will also be host to Samsung’s new Exynos 2100 SoC. While its predecessor —the Exynos 990— fell short of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, Samsung’s 2021 silicon looks promising. The 5nm chip is billed to employ ARM’s Cortex-X1 and Cortex-A78 cores, which will significantly bolster its overall performance. Things could also get a lot more exciting on the camera front. The Galaxy S21 Ultra, in particular, is expected to be the first Samsung device to come with a Penta-camera setup. Its 108MP ISOCELL HM2 lens will likely be accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle lens and two telephoto lenses, one of which will employ a periscope-style design. One can only hope that the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ also get significant camera upgrades.
Other rumoured Galaxy S21 specifications include support for fast charging at up to 60W, AMOLED panels clocked at 120Hz, a 5,000mAh battery for the Ultra variant, and an ultra-wideband chip. The Galaxy S21 price details are scarce, but rumors suggest that the Galaxy S21 Ultra may retail at US$1,300 (Rs. 96,000). Samsung’s decision to reschedule the Galaxy S21’s release date might come off as a bit odd, but it makes sense from the Chinese market’s perspective. With Huawei’s smartphone business crippled, an early 2021 release could help the company regain some foothold in several markets.
