Highlights
  • iPhone 12 mini MagSafe charging is slower than iPhone 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max
  • For iPhone 12 mini, the MagSafe charger delivers up to 12W power
  • iPhone 12 mini is Apple’s smallest iPhone in the new lineup

iPhone 12 mini does not charge as fast as the iPhone 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max over the MagSafe charger. Apple’s smallest and most affordable flagship iPhone this year charges at just 12W over the new MagSafe charger, as per the company. This is slower than the 15W max output that MagSafe can offer to the other iPhone 12 models. While this sounds disappointing, the MagSafe charger will still charge the mini faster than a standard Qi wireless charger which maxes out at 7.5W. The iPhone 12 mini is yet to go on sale in India. The phone will start shipping from November 14th, with pre-orders starting from November 6th.

Around the back, the iPhone 12 mini sports a squarish camera module that houses dual 12MP sensors, with OIS, 120-degree FoV, f/1.8, up to the 7 element lens, and 2x optical zoom – much like the iPhone 12. The front camera of the phone gets a 12MP f/2.2 True Depth sensor for selfies and video chats. The cameras are backed by a new smart mode (on the front camera as well), Smart HDR 3, night mode time-lapse, and more. Additionally, the smartphone is IP68 water and dust resistance certified and supports 5G.

The iPhone 12 mini, like all the other iPhones that Apple is currently shipping, comes minus the headphones and power adapter. Only the USB-C cable will be included in the box that still uses the Lightning port to charge iPhones.
