  • PUBG Mobile India to launch in the country soon
  • The game has been designed specifically for the Indian market
  • PUBG Mobile India release date is yet to be revealed

PUBG Mobile India launch has been officially announced by PUBG Corporation. The company said in a press note on Thursday that PUBG Mobile will be coming back to India as a new game specifically designed for the Indian market. This comes two months after the game was banned by the government. PUBG Corp. also revealed plans to provide a secure and healthy gameplay environment, which was one of the reasons behind the ban. The other reason behind that ban was that PUBG Mobile was seen as a Chinese app thanks to Tencent Games owning the publishing rights. However, Tencent handed over the publishing rights of the game to PUBG Corporation in September.

“To build and foster a healthy gameplay environment, in-game content will be improved and tailored to reflect local needs. Various aspects of the game will be customised for Indian gamers, such as the game now being set in a virtual simulation training ground, new characters automatically starting clothed, and green hit effects to reflect the virtual nature of the game. More importantly, the company will include a feature that places restrictions on game time to promote healthy gameplay habits for younger players,” PUBG Corporation said in a release.

As far as privacy and security go, PUBG Corporation said that it will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users’ personal data to ensure that the data is secure. Recently, PUBG Corporation’s parent company Krafton Inc. announced a partnership with Microsoft to host the game on the Azure service. It was also reported that the company is planning to run a marketing campaign during Diwali.

PUBG Mobile India release date

PUBG Corporation said that the PUBG Mobile India will be released at a later date and there’s no word on an exact launch date as of now. The company announced that it plans to create an Indian subsidiary to enhance communications and services with players. To do this, the subsidiary will hire 100 employees specialising in business, esports, and game development. Krafton Inc. also plans to invest USD 100 million in India to promote local video games, esport, entertainment, and IT industries.
