If September was a blockbuster month in terms of smartphone launches, sit tight because October is going to be even more exciting. The month that marks the beginning of the festive season and OEMs like Samsung, Realme, Vivo, and OnePlus are gearing up to launch a bunch of new smartphones in India. The OnePlus 8T, Samsung Galaxy F41, Realme 7i, Google Pixel 4a, POCO C3, and many more are scheduled to release in India this month. Apple is also expected to announce the iPhone 12 series globally. Here’s a look at some of the most anticipated phones launching in India and globally in October.

1. POCO C3 – October 6th

A new POCO C3 smartphone will launch in India on October 6th. The handset is likely to be an affordable offering from the brand, positioned below POCO M2 Pro, and will retail exclusively via Flipkart. The POCO C3 is expected to be a rebranded version of Redmi 9C that was unveiled in Malaysia back in July with budget specifications. The handset sports a 6.53-inch HD+ LCD display with a waterdrop notch, MediaTek Helio G35 SoC paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage under the hood, and 13MP triple rear cameras. Up front, the Redmi 9C features 5MP selfie camera. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and micro USB port. These could be the POCO C3 specifications if the phone is indeed a rebranded Redmi 9C.

2. Realme 7i – October 7th

Realme 7i is slated to launch in India on October 7th, alongside the flagship 55-inch Reame SLED 4K TV and the new Realme 7 Pro Sun Kissed Leather variant. The handset will be the third smartphone in the company’s numeric ‘7’ series lineup, which already comprises Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro. The Realme 7i is said to be a toned-down version of the Realme 7 model, with 64MP AI quad rear camera setup. The other specifications of the phone will include a 90Hz 6.5-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 662 SoC, 16MP front-facing camera, and 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The Realme 7i price in India is expected to be in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment.

3. Samsung Galaxy F41 – October 8th

Samsung will be taking the wraps off its first F-series phone called Galaxy F41 on October 8th in India. The handset is expected to be camera-centric in nature and share a lot of the same features as the Galaxy M31, including the waterdrop AMOLED display and 6,000mAh battery. The phone is also confirmed to rock triple rear cameras with 64MP primary sensor. As for the price, the Samsung Galaxy F41 could cost somewhere around Rs 15,000.

4. OnePlus 8T – October 14th

The highly-anticipated OnePlus 8T is slated to break covers on October 14th in India. The flagship is all set to debut with top-end specifications such as Snapdragon 865 SoC, 120Hz refresh rate screen, 4,500mAh battery, and new 65W Warp Charging solution. The latter is said to juice up the device from nothing to 100 percent in just 39 minutes. Software-wise, the phone will boot Android 10-based OxygenOS out of the box. Apart from this, the OnePlus 8T may feature 48MP quad rear cameras, punch-hole display, and up to 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. The handset, per the Amazon listing, could be priced starting at Rs 51,700.

5. Pixel 4a – October 17th

Google’s mid-range Pixel 4a smartphone will be launching in India on October 17th. The handset was originally introduced globally back in August with mid-range specifications. The phone packs a 60Hz 5.8-inch FHD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 730G chipset, 12MP camera, a 3,140mAh battery, and 18W fast charging solution. Other features include stereo speakers, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a polycarbonate unibody that includes a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Google Pixel 4a runs on a clean and stock Android 10 software with a promise of three major software upgrades. The handset is likely to come with a sticker price of around Rs 26,000.

6. Vivo V20 series – October 12th (rumoured)

Vivo V20 series may see the light of the day on October 12th in India. The series, comprising Vivo V20, Vivo V20 Pro, and Vivo V20 SE, has been launched globally as a mid-range offering. The handsets come with near bezel-less display, Snapdragon 600/ 700 SoCs, triple camera setup, 4,000mAh battery, and 33W fast charging support. The Vivo V20 is said to be the slimmest phone in Rs 20,000-Rs 30,000 price range. The Vivo V20 Pro, if launched in India, will offer 5G connectivity, dual selfie cameras with 44MP primary sensor, and 64MP primary camera.

7. iPhone 12 series – October 13th (rumoured)

The iPhone 12 series you’ve been all waiting for, may launch on October 13th, if rumours are anything to go by. Apple is expected to introduce as many as four smartphones in different screen sizes, with OLED panels, high refresh rate (fingers crossed!), A14 Bionic chipsets, 5G connectivity, and iOS 14 running out of the box. While the optic details are unclear at the moment, Apple is rumoured to bring in improvements to night mode, Smart HDR and bump up the telephoto lens zoom from 2x to 3x. As for the design, the iPhone 12 series may come with iPhone 4-like quad design with a squarish camera module at the back. Another interesting fact about this year’s iPhones is that they may not ship with earphones and charger, as part of Apple’s attempt to ‘save the environment.’

8. Motorola Razr 5G – India launch (no date yet)

Motorola RAZR 5G, which was launched globally last month, could make its debut in India in October. The company has already teased the handset’s arrival in the country. The new foldable phone from Motorola, which is a follow-up of last year’s RAZR, comes with 5G connectivity, Snapdragon 765G SoC, a 6.2-inch foldable plastic OLED screen inside, and a 2.7-inch OLED cover display. There are two cameras on the Motorola Razr 5G. The one under the cover display offers a 20MP sensor, while the camera above the main display uses a 48MP sensor. The foldable phone gets a rather small 2,800mAh battery, but still an improvement over the 2,510mAh battery on the previous model. The new Moto Razr supports 15W fast charging.

9. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE – India launch (no date yet)

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is also expected to break covers in India in October. The flagship phone from the South Korean manufacturer is a slightly toned-down version of Galaxy S20 from earlier this year. The S20 FE or Fan Edition ships with Snapdragon 865/ Exynos 990 SoC, 120Hz refresh rate screen, 12MP triple rear cameras, 4,500mAh battery with 15W fast charging support, and 32MP selfie camera. The phone is also IP68 water and dust resistance certified. It’ll be interesting to see the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE price in India. Globally, the phone retails at roughly around Rs 51,000.

In addition to these, Xiaomi could launch the latest mid-range Mi 10T Lite smartphone powered by the newest Snapdragon 750G in India in October. We may also see the next-gen Nokia 3.4 and Nokia 2.4 affordable phones from HMD global make their India debut this month.
