October is typically a busy month when it comes to smartphone launches and this year did. not disappoint. Tons of highly-anticipated phones launched in October this year, both globally and in India, including the iPhone 12 series, OnePlus 8T, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, and Mi 10T series. We also saw phones like the Pixel 4a finally releasing in India and affordable phones like the POCO C3 and Realme 7i, among others. Here’s a recap of some of the top smartphones launched in October 2020.

iPhone 12 series
Arguably, the most exciting lineup of the month. The iPhone 12 series was unveiled on October 13th at Apple park, and this year it includes four models: iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. All four smartphones feature the A14 Bionic chip with 5G support and OLED displays with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The iPhone 12 mini, as the name would suggest, is the smallest of them all with a 5.4-inch display, followed by iPhone 12 and 12 Pro with 6.1-inch screens. The iPhone 12 Pro Max sports a 6.7-inch display. The Max and Pro models pack triple rear cameras, while the iPhone 12 and 12 mini sports dual camera setup at the back. The iPhone 12 series price in India starts at Rs 69,900.
Pixel 4a
The Pixel 4a price in India finally got unveiled during the month and the phone went on sale in the country for the first time as well. Pixel 4a price in India is Rs 31,999 though it was available at an introductory price of Rs 29,999. Pixel 4a specifications include a stock-Android 10, 5.8-inch FHD+ OLED punch-hole display, Snapdragon 730G SoC, a single 12MP rear-facing camera, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and a 3,140mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
OnePlus 8T
OnePlus 8T was launched earlier this month with a starting price in India of Rs 42,999. It succeeds the OnePlus 8 and comes with some notable upgrades under the hood, including faster charging and a higher screen refresh rate. The 8T specifications include a 120Hz refresh rate display, 48MP quad rear cameras, 4,500mAh battery, and an impressive 65W Warp Charge fast charging solution. The handset is driven by the flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC.
Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro
The Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro prices in India took everyone by surprise as they were aggressive for the specifications they offered. These are Xiaomi’s latest flagships with specs that include the Snapdragon 865 SoC, 144Hz refresh rate screen, punch-hole design, 5,000mAh battery, and 33W fast charging support. The only difference between the two phones is the rear-facing camera: Mi 10T Pro sports a 108MP triple camera setup at the back, whereas the Mi 10T packs 64MP triple rear cameras. The Mi 10T series price in India starts at Rs 35,999.
POCO C3
The POCO C3 is the brand’s most affordable smartphone in India yet. The handset is selling at a base price of Rs 7,499 in the country. The POCO C3 specifications include a 6.53-inch HD+ LCD screen, MediaTek Helio G35 chipset, 13MP triple rear cameras, 5,000mAh battery, and Android 10-based MIUI 12 OS that runs without ads.
Realme 7i
Realme 7i is the company’s most affordable 90Hz display smartphone in India right now. Launched in October, the handset is slotted below Realme 7 and has been priced starting at Rs 11,999. The Realme 7i other specifications are as follows: 64MP quad rear cameras, 6.5-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 662 SoC, 5,000mAh battery, and 18W fast charging support.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is a special fan edition version of the company’s flagship lineup S20 series. The phone highlights 120Hz refresh rate screen, Exynos 990 SoC, 4G connectivity, 4,500mAh battery with 15W charging support, and Android 10. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE price in India is set at Rs Rs 49,999 for the sole 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The phone comes in Cloud Red, Cloud Orange, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy, and Cloud White colour options.
These were some of the top smartphones that got launched in India in October. In addition to them, OPPO launched A33 and OPPO A15 smartphones – the former is the cheapest smartphone with a 90Hz screen in the country. Motorola announced its second-gen foldable smartphone called RAZR 5G phone, while LG recently took the wraps off its dual screen Wing smartphone that swivels and LG Velvet in India. Vivo V20, Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime, Samsung Galaxy F41, and Infinix Hot 10 were also released in India this month. We expect to see plenty of new smartphones launch in November as well.
