Redmi K40 is expected to launch later this year with mid-range specifications. Ahead of that, the successor to Redmi K30 has reportedly surfaced on MIIT certification with model number M2011K2C. The handset is believed to be a 5G offering and the certification site confirms that. What it doesn’t confirm is whether the Redmi K40 will be powered by Snapdragon 775 SoC or not. That is still a speculation, and we’ll have to wait for further reports to confirm. The Snapdragon 775 SoC is tipped to be the upcoming mid-range mobile platform from Qualcomm – replacing Snapdragon 765 series.

The Snapdragon 775 chipset could be announced at Qualcomm’s annual event on December 1st alongside Snapdragon 875 SoC. The latter is said to be the flagship SoC from the chipmaker, succeeding the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. The SoC will rock most Android flagships next year including the Redmi K40 Pro. The handset is rumoured to be a more powerful version of the Redmi K40. The Pro variant may also tout 5G connectivity. That’s all the information we know as of now.
In other news about the brand, Xiaomi could launch its next-gen Redmi Note 10 series soon. The handsets, which will be succeeding Redmi Note 9 series from earlier this year, has been doing the rounds of the rumour mill quite a lot lately. Most recently, a Redmi Note 10-series phone was allegedly spotted on 3Cs with model number M2010J19SC, 4G connectivity, and 22.5W fast charging support. Apart from the M2010J19SC, two other phones with model numbers M2007J17C and M2007J22C appeared on 3C a few days ago, which could be 5G versions of the Redmi Note 10. The Redmi Note 10 series specifications remain vague at the moment.
