Sony Xperia 5 II has been announced as the company’s latest flagship offering. Sony claims it is the world’s first phone to feature 4K HDR 120fps slow-motion movie recording and it can record and playback up to 5x slow-motion videos at 24fps. The handset ships with a dedicated shutter button, CinemaWide HDR OLED display with BRAVIA X1 for mobile, 120Hz refresh rate, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, and 5G connectivity. The Sony Xperia 5 II price tag is $950 (around Rs. 70,000) and the phone comes in black. It will be available in the US for pre-orders from September 29th and will be on sale from December 4th.

The Sony Xperia 5 II sports a 6.1-inch full HD+ OLED HDR display with 2,520 x 1,080 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz Motion blur reduction, 240Hz touch sampling rate 21:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It is powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with Adreno 650 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage that is further expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 10 OS and has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C for charging and data sync.
As for the cameras, Sony Xperia 5 II will have a 12MP primary sensor with an Exmor RS sensor, f/1.7 aperture, Hybrid OIS/EIS, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 124-degree field of view, and a 12MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The phone is equipped with Real-time Eye AF1, continuous Autofocus (AF/AE) calculations at 60 times per second, and up to 20fps shooting. There is an 8MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and an IP65/IP68 rating for water resistance. The phone houses a 4,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging.
