OnePlus 8T with the codename “kebab” was recently spotted on the latest OxygenOS 11 beta 4 build, revealing what could be the final design and some key details were leaked. The company is seemingly working on a bunch of budget and mid-range phones as well, which might see light in the day before the end of this year. However, surprisingly there haven’t been any major rumours or leaks surrounding the OnePlus 8T Pro and there was no mention of it in the OxygenOS 11 firmware as well. As it turns out, there might not be an OnePlus 8T Pro aka “kebab2” at all, according to noted leaker Max J, who has a great track when it comes to OnePlus leaks. It now makes sense as to why there were no leaks about the Pro model.
OnePlus had introduced the ‘Pro’ line-up with the OnePlus 7 series last year and continued the tradition with OnePlus 7T line-up as well as this year’s OnePlus 8 phones. It now looks like the company wants to skip a generation as there may not be any major upgrades compared to the already good OnePlus 8 Pro that ships with a Quad HD+ display, 120Hz display, and the mighty Snapdragon 865 SoC. OnePlus 7T Pro was more of the same device as the OnePlus 7 Pro, albeit with very few improvements, and the same could have been the case with an OnePlus 8T Pro.
As for the standard OnePlus 8T, it is expected to come with a 120Hz AMOLED display, a quad-camera setup with a new 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 5MP macro, and 2MP portrait lens for bokeh shots. OnePlus is tipped to introduce 8K video-recording for the first time. The OnePlus 8T could be powered by the Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
