Reliance Jio announced three in-flight connectivity packs with prices starting from Rs 499. These recharge plans are applicable on select airlines and come with one-day validity. Jio has clarified that incoming calls are not allowed with the in-flight connectivity packs but incoming SMS are free and that data speeds may vary from airline to airline. Jio’s new in-flight connectivity plans come bundled with data, outgoing calls, and SMS. The telco has partnered with AeroMobile, a subsidiary of Panasonic Avionics Corporation, for the Jio in-flight connectivity plans.

The Rs 499 Jio in-flight connectivity pack offers 250MB data, 100-minute voice calls, and 100 SMS. The Rs 699 Jio plan costs Rs 699 and offers 500MB data, 100-minute calls, and 100 SMS. Lastly, there’s a Rs 999 Jio in-flight plan that brings 1GB data, same 100-minute calls, and 100 SMS. All three plans have a 1-day validity. However, users will be charged for two days if the connecting flight is equipped with a different aircraft roaming network. These are prepaid packs but are also available to postpaid users on a pre-on-post basis.

Jio has mentioned that its in-flight connectivity packs are applicable to its 22 partner airlines. However, only Air Serbia, Alitalia, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Euro Wings, Kuwait Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Malindo Air, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, SWISS, Uzbekistan Airways, Asiana Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic airlines get access to all services data, voice, and SMS. Users taking the Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Egypt Air, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Aer Lingus, TAP Air Portugal, and Turkish Airlines can only access data and SMS services.
